Flying during pregnancy

If you plan to take a plane trip during pregnancy, talk with your doctor first. If thereis no problems or complications, your doctor will probably let you go - except in the early stages (when miscarriages are more likely to occur) or in the later stages (when it may be more likely to go into birth process). Make sure to obtain a medical certificate from your doctor before traveling, which confirms that it is right for you to travel at this stage.
It is probably not a good idea to travel anywhere that requires prior to immunization. Prevent the introduction or ingestion of foreign substances during pregnancy (including alcohol and nicotine) is the surest path to a healthy baby.
Try to reserve a seat that makes you comfort :
• A seat near the bathroom will facilitate more frequent bladder emptying.
• An aisle seat, it will be easier to get up for quick moves (and trips to the bathroom)
• Bulkhead seats have more legroom.
• First class seats will be much more convenient - if you can afford the expense.
During a long trip, you can spend the time with taking your Walkman or iPod with soft music, singing, prayings, or a good baby development books. These will give you and your unborn baby immense happiness and peace.
Make sure to carry your own food during the trip. Home prepared food is the best nutrition needed for frequent at this stage. Avoid the junk food packaging or something bought readymade in the market. Try to carry fruit and juice cans or tetra packs because they are easy to transport and nutritious.
If possible, please do not travel alone during pregnancy. Take a friend along. Always keep your contact number for emergency and doctor’s contact details, so that if needed, someone can easily find the details in your bag and contact the right person at the right time.
